DepEd clarifies that the early Christmas break applies to both learners and teachers of public schools
The Department of Education clarifies that the early Christmas break applies to both learners and teachers of public schools.
In case of an urgent task that requires teachers to report during Christmas break (on the week of December 16 to 22), they will be merited with equivalent vacation service credits given the request to render service during this period satisfies the following conditions:
- – A letter-request is submitted by the school head to his/her respective SDO;
- – Sufficient justification is provided to establish that exigency of public service exists; and
- – The request is duly approved by the Schools Division Superintendent.
On the other hand,
Private schools are encouraged to follow the revised school calendar but it is also upon their discretion to set their own calendar as long as they complete the minimum number of school days.
