PRC accepts renewal of Professional IDs until 2020 even without full CPD Compliance
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in its official Continuing Professional Education (CPD) Notice announced that professionals with incomplete CPD Units can still renew their Professional Identification Card (PIC) provided that they will execute an undertaking to complete their CPD unit requirements until the next compliance period.
CPD Compliance is mandatory for all PRC-regulated professionals starting July 2017.
This is a good news for all professionals since the undertaking can be availed until December 31, 2020.
“CPD Act of 2016” or the Republic Act No. 10912 is an act that requires CPD as mandatory requirement for Professional ID Card renewal for all professionals regulated by PRC.

False reports has been circulated recently claiming that the CPD Law abolition has been formally approved in the Senate.
PRC likewise clarified that the Senate Bill No. 2073 initiated by Senator Ralph Recto or an act to Repeal the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) law is a newly filed Senate Bill and still has to undergo process before it could amend the law. Full details CLICK HERE
Earlier statements from PRC stated that those with incomplete CPD can still renew their license upon undertaking to complete their CPD requirements until the end of 2019.

PRC and the Professional Regulatory Boards have put in place initiatives to address issues of affordability and accessibility. Guidelines are being prepared to standardize seminar fees, crediting of professional activities and online courses.
Applications for Renewal of Professional Identification Cards (PICs) until the end of 2019 are accepted even without full CPD compliance, provided the applicant undertakes to complete his/her compliance.
